Summative Designation
October 31, 2023
Dear Hollis Families,
The Illinois State Board of Education has released the annual Illinois Report Card at www.illinoisreportcard.com. The Report Card contains school performance data from the 2022-23 school year.
The annual school report card is one measure of a school’s success. As you all know, schools are more than just test scores. In addition to teaching core academic subjects, teachers focus on social-emotional growth, leadership, and building strong relationships with students and their families.
On our 2023 Report Card, we are proud to see:
- Increased proficiency rates on the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) in both Reading and Math.
- Strong baseline data for the Illinois Science Assessment (ISA).
- A decreased rate of chronic absenteeism.
- Strong feedback from our annual climate survey.
One component of the Report Card is the annual summative designation – a federally required accountability category. It identifies schools for support and describes how well our school is meeting the needs of all students based on eight indicators of performance.
We are incredibly proud to announce that Hollis Grade School has received an annual summative designation of EXEMPLARY.
Our School Report Card is an opportunity to celebrate our strengths and reflect on our goals so that every student can reach their fullest potential. At Hollis, we believe every student can meet high expectations. We also realize that you are a critical partner in your child’s education. When we all work together on behalf of our students, we can achieve so much more. Thank you for your continued support of Hollis Grade School. We hope you will join us in celebrating this incredible accomplishment.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,
Byron Sondgeroth
