February 6, 2022
Dear Hollis Families,
Just before 5:00 pm on Friday, February 4, 2022, an Illinois judge ruled on a lawsuit filed by parents and teachers across the state that challenged state-mandated COVID-19 mitigations. At this time nothing has changed for our school district in regard to COVID protocols, and I will communicate with you again when there is an update. Until then, we ask for your patience as we receive guidance about this decision.
While Hollis Consolidated School District #328 is not named in the lawsuit, the ruling and subsequent appeal(s) may have implications for our district. Along with all other school districts in Illinois, we are in the process of reviewing the judge’s decision to determine whether/how this ruling impacts Hollis.
While there have been challenges during the pandemic, we have proven that together we can navigate them successfully. Thank you for your continued support of our students, teachers, and staff.
Sincerely,
Chad Jones
Superintendent
