Dear Hollis Community,

We are excited to share that the Illinois State Board of Education has released the annual Illinois Report Card at www.illinoisreportcard.com. The Report Card contains school performance data from the 2024-25 school year.

Every year the Illinois State Board of Education assigns a Summative Designation to each public school in the state. These designations help show how a school is meeting the needs of all of its students. It considers multiple indicators, including academic proficiency, student growth, chronic absenteeism, and other drivers of student success. Together, this information comprises an official designation. The designation helps us identify both strengths and weaknesses, and helps guide ongoing school improvement. This year, there were five possible designations:

• Exemplary
• Commendable
• Targeted Support
• Comprehensive Support
• Intensive Support

We are pleased to share that for the 2024 – 2025 school year, Hollis earned a COMMENDABLE designation.

On our 2025 Report Card, we are proud to see continued strong levels of proficiency in Math, ELA, and Science. We are also pleased to see a slight decrease in our rate of chronic absenteeism. These results reflect the investments we have made in providing high quality, rigorous curriculum designed to meet today’s challenging academic standards, excellent teaching by highly qualified and dedicated teachers and staff, and a supportive school community.

While we are happy to celebrate our many successes this year, we know there is always room for us to grow, and we are committed to engaging in continuous school improvement to provide the best possible education to our students. Our teachers and staff are committed to working with students and families to maintain and increase proficiency in all subject areas with a dedicated focus on student growth. Our staff is dedicated to helping ALL of our students grow, not just those who are performing below proficiency levels.
